John Defendis Bodybuilder Biography


John Defendis Mr USA Intensity or Insanity training

John Defendis is someone who has made an enormous contribution to health and fitness all over the world. Not only has he competed successfully as a bodybuilder himself but has to date help to guide and personally train over 300 top bodybuilders in the last 33 years since he started.

John won Mr.USA when personal trainers were not as common as they are today. He started a company, which he called ULTRA FIT and connected it to personal trainers all over the country. Running the company has been his primary concern for the last 30 years.

He has personally trained some of the most influential people in the world. Probably his most recent notable success was helping the speaker of the house Newt Gingrich to lose over 50 pounds. But he has quietly been training some well-known people like Calvin Klein and the CEO of American Express Jim Robinson.

From many different professional ballplayers like Mike Piazza and Luis Alicea, John Defendis has also personally trained the professional boxer Andrew Golatta plus 17 different senators from both parties. The point is that John knows what he is doing when it comes to personal training.

John has been directly involved by hosting his own radio talk show covering topics like Fitness, Nutrition, Sports, Weight Training and Weight Loss. John has also written for a syndicated Newspaper column called "The Fitness Expert" which is an insert that has now been included in over 28 different newspapers.

In the state of Florida for the last 9 years he has always won the "Trainer of the Year" award which is done every year by popular demand. Since his fine for the importation of steroids for which he got a 5 year jail sentence or a $250 000 fine he has no longer received this award.

John has contributed to many different causes related to fitness and health and is often featured as a guest speaker which he does on a regular basis for the Atlanta Braves. John has published countless articles online, which have been published in magazines like Flex and Muscle & Fitness.
